Dr. Suzanne Hange
I grew up on a dirt road in North Carolina in a family that took in a lot of strays. Animals were always a big part of my life, but my second love was school. I was interested in learning and the sciences, and saw myself going into human medicine until I volunteered at our local veterinarian’s office in college. I loved the intellectual challenge of working in medicine, and getting to work with animals solidified my decision to pursue veterinary medicine. I attended the University of Pennsylvania and completed an internship in Brooklyn before making the move to California. I have worked in hospitals both rural and urban and take pride in treating all of my clients as I would want my mother or sister to be treated, regardless of background. Veterinary medicine is truly a passion of mine as it allows me to combine my love for science with alleviating suffering – I cannot imagine a more fulfilling job. I joined Best Friends Animal Hospital in February 2019 and have loved every minute here. I’m not sure I’ll ever get tired of playing with my patients in the exam room and sneaking treats to the animals in the hospital. When not at work, you can find me at the farmer’s market, on my bike, in the YMCA weight room, or at home in NoHo with my partner, Justin, and our dog and lizard.
